«Η έμφαση τώρα θα πρέπει να είναι στο να διασφαλίσουμε τη μείωση του (εργασιακού) κόστους για τη βελτίωση της ανταγωνιστικότητας της Ελλάδας» Ευρωπαίος Επίτροπος Όλι Ρεν στο φινλανδικό τηλεοπτικό κανάλι YLE (23/2/2012).
Η μόνιμη επωδός που στερεότυπα επαναλαμβάνεται από τα χείλη των μνημονιακών πολιτικών και τη γραφίδα των αντίστοιχων συνεργατών τους, εδώ και στο εξωτερικό, είναι: «Απαιτείται να μειωθούν οι μισθοί για να βελτιωθεί η ανταγωνιστικότητα».[1]
Αυτό αποτέλεσε το fons et origo της αντεργατικής απολογητικής στρεψοδικίας και σ' αυτό το στοιχειώδες μοτίβο βασίστηκε η πλημμυρίδα των μέτρων που εφαρμόστηκαν τα τελευταία χρόνια. Όμως, σ' ένα πιο επεξεργασμένο επίπεδο οι μνημονιακοί οικονομολόγοι υποστηρίζοντας ότι η ανταγωνιστικότητα είναι συνάρτηση του κόστους εργασίας, που με τη σειρά του εξαρτάται και από την παραγωγικότητα, πιέζουν για τη μείωσή του. Τέλος, σ' ένα ακόμα πιο υψηλό επίπεδο ανάλυσης γνωρίζουν (ή τουλάχιστον θα πρέπει να γνωρίζουν) ότι όταν η αύξηση της παραγωγικότητας υπερβαίνει την αύξηση των πραγματικών μισθών τότε ενισχύεται το μερίδιο των κερδών δηλαδή προκύπτει αναδιανομή του εισοδήματος σε βάρος των εργαζόμενων. Για το λόγο αυτό, διαλαλούν σε όλους τους τόνους ότι απαιτείται η αύξηση της παραγωγικότητας να μην υπολείπεται της αύξησης των πραγματικών μισθών[2]. Ας διερευνήσουμε λοιπόν το τοπίο εξακριβώνοντας το τι ακριβώς συμβαίνει στη χώρα μας αρχίζοντας από την τελευταία προτροπή-κατηγορία.
